Course Overview
The aim of this course is to develop your knowledge and understanding around how to care for children and how to support their development. The course will also provide you with an understanding of the requirements for working with young children and will support progression onto further training.

You will need a basic level of English, speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

There is no formal assessment and no examination, you will complete activities in class. You will keep a learner diary, individual learning plan to track your progress and your tutor will give you regular verbal and written feedback which will show you how to improve.

This process allows us to discuss your progress from enrolment to completion of the course and helps us to support you to achieve your goals in planning the next step in your learning.

You will receive a certificate of attendance.

There are progression routes onto Entry 3 Caring for Children or Introduction to Working in a School

Your tutor will discuss your next steps with you, and you will have access to a Careers Adviser from National Careers Service.
