Course Overview
This course is for people who have an interest in working in schools either as a volunteer or as a paid worker. The aim of the qualification is to prepare
learners for further learning and training whilst developing an understanding of the teaching and learning environment in a school setting.
Prosp Overview
It is recommended that you possess a Level 1 literacy qualification or equivalent and have an interest in the social care field. You will need good ICT Skills an electronic tablet, PC or laptop with good internet access to support working on Moodle which is Oldham Lifelong Learning’s virtual learning platform.
Prosp Req
There is no end of course examination. Assessment will be complete on Moodle and/or in a workbook covering all the learning outcomes of this qualification which is produced by the awarding body. Each candidate is required to complete these assessments which includes a variety of short and long answer questions. All will be assessed by your assessor and a sample of your completed work will then be externally moderated by the awarding body.

Prosp Content
You could progress onto the NCFE CACHE Level 2 Award in Support work in Schools and Colleges or the Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching & Learning in schools (dependant on previous experience and qualifications). Your tutor will advise you of other courses we offer, with and without a qualification, in education and early years.

Your tutor will discuss your next steps with you, and you will have access to a Careers Adviser from National Careers Service.
