Course Overview
This short course is aimed at people working or volunteering in the Children and Young People’s workforce, including Teaching Assistants. It will complement other courses and qualifications offered by Lifelong Learning.
The course provides basic knowledge and an introduction to the field of child psychology.

There are no formal entry requirements, however, you will be required to produce some written work.

There is no formal assessment and no examination. You will keep an Individual Learning Plan to track your progress and your tutor will give you regular verbal and written feedback which will show you how to improve.

This process allows us to discuss your progress from enrolment to completion of the course and helps us to support you to achieve your goals and in planning the next step in your learning.

On completion of the course, you will:
• Gain an insight into child psychology.
• Investigate the theories of well-known child psychologists
• Understand the importance of how to use these theories effectively when supporting children.
