• Make a range of cakes and pastry goods
• Use a variety of ingredients and toppings
• Make a variety of baked items e.g. biscuits, simple breads etc.
• Practice safe working practices in the kitchen and follow food safety and hygiene requirements.
Materials and Equipment
You will need to bring the following:
Apron, containers or ovenproof cookware to take food home. Closed flat shoes must be worn to protect your feet. You will be informed each week about any equipment or ingredients need for the following week.
Please note you need to provide all the ingredients needed for the recipes.
Week 1: You will need:
600g Plain flour
300g butter/margarine. (butter will produce a richer biscuit)
200g granulated sugar
Icing sugar and cocoa powder (this is optional but, will be used to make icing for your biscuits)
