Course Overview
This course is for people who have an interest in working with children with special educational needs or disabilities, in schools or in early years, either as a volunteer or as a paid worker.

The course aims to; explore issues affecting children with additional needs; to be familiar with legal requirements and to be aware of how to support children and their families.
Prosp Overview
You will need a good level of literacy to be able to complete tasks. You will need good ICT Skills an electronic tablet, PC or laptop with good internet access to support working on Moodle which is Oldham Lifelong Learning’s virtual learning platform.

There is no formal assessment and no examination you will complete activities in class and on Moodle. You will keep a learner diary, individual learning plan to track your progress and your tutor will give you regular verbal and written feedback which will show you how to improve.

This process allows us to discuss your progress from enrolment to completion of the course and helps us to support you to achieve your goals in planning the next step in your learning.

You will receive a certificate of attendance.

Prosp Content
There are progression routes onto childcare, teaching assistant courses or social care qualifications.

Your tutor will discuss your next steps with you, and you will have access to a Careers Adviser from National Careers Service.
