Course Overview
This course is ideal for anyone interested in increasing their own understanding of mental health issues. It is useful for those working within the voluntary and community sectors or for people whose role calls for interaction with the general public. The course aims to raise awareness and understanding of ‘mental health’. Prosp Overview
It is recommended that you possess a functional skills English qualification or equivalent and have an interest in the social care field. You will need good ICT Skills an electronic tablet, PC or laptop with good internet access to support working on Moodle which is Oldham Lifelong Learning’s virtual learning platform. Prosp Req
Assessment will be complete on Moodle covering all the learning outcomes of this qualification which is produced by the awarding body. Each candidate is required to complete these assessments which includes a variety of short and long answer questions. All will be assessed by your assessor and a sample of your completed work will then be externally moderated by the awarding body. Prosp Assess

• Develop awareness of cultural diversity within mental health issues
• Investigate barriers people may encounter when trying to access services
• How to promote positive mental health
