This course is for those interested in pursuing a career in working with children.

Open Requirements

You will need to be working at Level 1 English Skills to meet the demands of the course, have a good degree of ICT skills and access to the internet to be able to use Moodle (Lifelong Learning’s virtual learning platform).

Open Assessment

You will be required to complete assignments on-line (Moodle) which will be reviewed by your tutor to ensure all performance criteria have been met. There are no exams, certification is gained through completion of assignments to the required standard.

The course consists of 4 mandatory units:
• Unit 1 – Growth and development of young children
• Unit 2 – Respecting and valuing children
• Unit 3 – Practical health and safety when with young children
• Unit 4 – Understanding learning and development through play
