This course is for you if you want to develop basic English skills in Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing to communicate in everyday situations.

You will need to attend a placement appointment interview. Please telephone 0161 770 1531 for an assessment.

Open Assessment

There is no formal examination in this course. You will be assessed by teacher in class by completing homework every week and following Individual Learning Plan. The teacher will talk to you about how you are doing and what you need to practise more.

You will learn basic speaking, listening, reading and writing in English.
You will:
Practise English sounds and read short texts
Talk to other people
Listen to spoken English
Ask and answer questions
Learn new words and write short sentences
Read simple sentences
Recognise symbols, signs, and digits
Practise spelling and handwriting
