Course Overview
This is an informal course aiming to encourage learners to join these sessions and become more confident in English and maths skills and to assist with useful tasks in everyday lives.

This course will provide the opportunity to improve your English skills, to help understand the cost-of-living crisis, offer tips to save money, help complete forms and write emails.

It will also help you with everyday maths skills which include managing a household budget, understanding energy bills, healthier lifestyles and helping your children with basic maths skills. The everyday English skills will help you create a CV, apply for a job, fill in forms and write a letter.

You will improve your skills and become more confident and may even progress to a Functional English and Maths qualification class. This is a bespoke course and a very enjoyable one!
Prosp Overview
This course is available to everyone and there are no entry requirements.
Prosp Req
At the end of the course, you will have the opportunity to progress to a Functional Skills class. There is no formal exam on this course.
Prosp Assess
You will learn some basic maths and English skills which you can use in your everyday life This will include using your smart phones to work out calculations, fill in forms, send emails and search for information in a quick and easy way.
Prosp Content
You will have the opportunity to progress to a Functional skills course, depending on your abilities, commitment, punctuality and attendance. You will also have the opportunity to enrol onto other vocational courses.

All learners are signposted to Get Oldham Working.
Prosp Progression
The course is free to adults aged 19 and over on 31 August 2022 who are British or EEA citizens. Other individuals aged 19 or over may be eligible, e.g. those with leave to remain in the UK or asylum seekers who have lived in the UK for more than 6 months and no decision on their claim has been made. Your eligibility will be discussed prior to starting the course.
