Course Overview
This pathway is for absolute beginners who have never used a computer. You will complete a skills pathway which will allow you to gain Entry 2 and Entry 3 level digital skills qualifications.
Prosp Overview
This course requires a pre-enrolment interview to ensure you have the required literacy skills. Please ring 770-8026 to arrange an appointment.
Prosp Req
The exercises you complete will cover the outcomes required by the exam board and the work you produce will be assessed by your tutor.
Prosp Assess
You will complete a range of activities on the computer and learn about:
General computer use
Managing files and folders
Word Processing software
Spreadsheet software
Using the Internet to find information
Using email to communicate.

You will gain the following qualifications:

Entry 2 Award in Life & Living Skills
Entry 3 Award in Skills for Employment, training, and personal development

We offer a range of qualification and non-qualification courses. Your tutor will help you to decide which course is best for you. We can also refer you to other learning providers and signpost you to a careers adviser from National Careers Service.

This course is eligible for a range of concessions which may result in it being free of charge. This also includes a free offer for people who are employed and who meet certain criteria. If course fees are more than £70 you can pay by instalment. See www.oldham.gov.uk/lifelong for further information. We do not give refunds if you withdraw from the course, and you will remain liable for any outstanding instalments.
