Course Overview
This course will support learners to develop a basic knowledge and understanding of the principles and practice of youth work. It also helps learners understand the role of the youth worker in terms of safeguarding young people.

Open Assessment

There is no formal assessment and no examination, you will complete activities in class. You will keep a learner diary, individual learning plan to track your progress and your tutor will give you regular verbal and written feedback which will show you how to improve.

You will receive a certificate of attendance.

• Explore the values and principles of youth work practice.
• Discuss challenges young people face.
• Consider the role of the youth worker in supporting young people to overcome challenges.
• Develop an awareness of safe practice in youth work.
