Course Overview
This course is aimed at people with no previous experience and would benefit learners starting or returning to adult education who have an interest in working with children. This qualification is also suitable for adults who have English as an additional language. The course aims to provide an understanding of the basic skills needed to care for a baby or young child and to develop an awareness of further training that will be required in order to work with children.
Prosp Overview
This course requires a pre-enrolment interview. Please telephone 0161 770 1383/1239 to arrange an appointment. You must possess a full Entry Level 3 Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing qualification in English.

Your work and participation in the tasks will be assessed throughout the course. You will build up a file containing your evidence
Prosp Assess
You will learn how: to provide a safe and hygienic environment for children; play supports learning and development; to listen and talk to young children
Prosp Content
You will be able to progress on to the Level 1 Caring for Children course if you meet the entry requirements. Your tutor will discuss your next steps with you and you will have access to a Careers Adviser from National Careers Service.

You may be eligible for a concession or help from the Discretionary Learner Support fund – please discuss this with our information, advice and guidance staff. We do not give refunds if you withdraw and you will remain liable for any outstanding instalments.
