Course Overview
This workshop will explore how to support children with Down Syndrome. Aimed at people working or volunteering in the Children and Young People’s workforce supporting children with additional needs, including Teaching Assistants and Early Years Workers, this one-day workshop will refresh your skills and knowledge to support the work you do.
Prosp Overview
It is recommended that you are already working or volunteering in the Children and Young People’s workforce or enrolled on similar courses.
Prosp Req
There is no formal assessment and no examination.  You will keep a learner diary or Individual Learning Plan to track your progress and your tutor will give you regular verbal and written feedback which will show you how to improve. This process allows us to discuss your progress from enrolment to completion of the course and helps us to support you to achieve your goals and in planning the next step in your learning.
Prosp Assess
You will develop an understanding of what Down Syndrome is and how this may present and look at key learning strengths that the children may have. You will also identify some strategies to work with children with Down Syndrome children in mainstream education.
Prosp Content
There are other workshops and courses available related to this topic. Your tutor will discuss your next steps with you and you will have access to a Careers Adviser from National Careers Service.

We do not give refunds if you don't attend or do not give us at least 7 days' notice before the course start date that you will not be taking up your place on the course..
