Course Overview
This course will help you to improve your skills and gain knowledge of ingredients and baking methods. You will also learn different presentation techniques. You will need to provide all your own ingredients, an apron, containers or ovenproof cookware to take food home. Please wear closed shoes to protect your feet. You will be informed prior to the first week of specific items you will need.

The course is not formally assessed. The tutor will give feedback during the sessions about your progress within the subject.

Make a range of cakes and different pastry goods; Use a variety of ingredients and toppings; Make a variety of baked items e.g. biscuits, simple breads etc.; Use safe working practices in the kitchen

Look out for other cookery classes such as baking, cake decoration and wired sugar paste modelling. Oldham Lifelong Learning offers a range of courses with and without a qualification to support training and future development.Your tutor will discuss your next steps with you and you will have access to a Careers Adviser from National Careers Service.
