Course Overview
This course is for learners of all abilities, including beginners. It is also for the amateur artist who regularly paints and draws. During the course you will be able to develop and improve your drawing and painting skills.

This course is not formally assessed. The tutor will give back feedback during the sessions about your progress with the subject

Prosp Assess
• Drawing and painting through direct observation and from photographs
• Learning different styles and techniques from a variety of media
• Carrying out art research and self-directed projects
• Safe working practice following COVID 19 Government guidelines.

Materials and Equipment
Please note that you will need to provide all the materials for your own projects just for your own use as stated above. But to begin with they will include:

A3 Drawing pad
A3 or A4 Mixed media Pad
2 pencils: hard HB and soft B4-B7
Eraser
Set of watercolour paints (preferable of good quality and in the pans not tubes)
Set of acrylic paints
3 brushes of different sizes (1; 4; 9) made of soft natural or artificial fibre
Palettes
Blue/white tack
Masking tape (wide)
Paper towels

Further study can be undertaken in other art classes. Your tutor will discuss your next steps with you and you will have access to a Careers Adviser from National Careers Service.
