Course Overview
This is a 3 week pre-course introduction for anyone wanting to complete the NCFE Award in Education and Training Level 3. There are 2 face to face classroom sessions and an optional online session to support learners in using the online platform Zoom.

Open Requirements

You will need
• A Level 2 qualification in literacy.
• A qualification and / or experience in the subject you want to teach
You will also need:
• Basic IT skills
• Access to a good internet connection
• Access to Zoom (which can easily be downloaded onto your device)
• An electronic tablet, PC or laptop (It would not be possible to complete the course on a smartphone).

You will be required to complete an online pre-enrolment interview and a short written assessment

There will be no formal written assessments, but the tutor will provide feedback and support about your progress throughout the course.

• Introduction to the Teaching Cycle and the Role of the Teacher
• Icebreakers, and when to use them
• Setting Ground Rules
• Principles of Good Communication

Open Progression

After completing the course, you can progress onto the NCFE Award in Education and Training Level 3.

Your tutor will discuss your next steps with you and you will have access to a Careers Adviser from National Careers Service.
