Course Overview
This course is for people who have an interest in working in schools either as a volunteer or as a paid worker. The aim of the qualification is to prepare learners for further learning and training whilst developing an understanding of the teaching and learning environment in a school setting.

This course requires a pre-enrolment interview. Please telephone 0161 770 1383/1239 to arrange an appointment. You must possess a Level 1 English qualification (or be working towards this).

Your work and participation in the tasks will be assessed throughout
Prosp Assess
On completion of the course you will have an understanding of: How schools work as organisations; How to keep children and young people healthy, safe and well; How to communicate with children, young people and adults
Prosp Content
You could progress onto the NCFE CACHE Level 2 Award in Support work in Schools and Colleges or the Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching & Learning in schools (dependant on previous experience and qualifications). Your tutor will advise you of other courses we offer, with and without a qualification, in education and early years. Your tutor will discuss your next steps with you and you will have access to a Careers Adviser from National Careers Service.

You may be eligible for a concession or help from the Discretionary Learner Support fund – please discuss this with our information, advice and guidance staff. We do not give refunds if you withdraw and you will remain liable for any outstanding instalments.
