Course Overview
This course is for people who have an interest in working with children or adults with ADHD in schools, early years or with adults in a social care setting, either as a volunteer or as a paid worker with children or adults.

There are no formal entry requirements however you will be required to produce some written work.

There is no formal assessment and no examination.  You will keep a learner diary or Individual Learning Plan to track your progress and your tutor will give you regular verbal and written feedback which will show you how to improve. This process allows us to discuss your progress from enrolment to completion of the course and helps us to support you to achieve your goals and in planning the next step in your learning.

• Explanation of ADHD as a medical condition.
• Characteristics of ADHD, symptoms and behaviours.
• Diagnosis and management of the condition.
• Effects on individual and their families.
• How the condition co-occurs with other conditions.
Prosp Content
We offer a range of complementary courses with and without a qualification to support your development. Your tutor will discuss your next steps with you and you will have access to a Careers Adviser from National Careers Service.
Prosp Progression
The course is subsidised by GMCA – please see our full fees policy available at www.oldham.gov.uk/lifelong. If course fees are more than £70 you can pay by instalment – see the fees policy. You may be eligible for a concession or help from the Discretionary Learner Support fund – please discuss this with our information, advice and guidance staff. We do not give refunds if you withdraw and you will remain liable for any outstanding instalments.
