Course Overview
In order to comply with Government Guidelines regarding Covid 19, our class time will be 1.5hrs duration supplemented by independent/online learning. To ensure social distancing rules are followed, classes will be smaller in size. To protect your safety, we also require that the equipment and materials you bring are just for your own use and not to be shared with others.

This 6 week course is for people who have an interest in art, wish to learn new skills and build on existing techniques to achieve creative, individualised works of art.

• Drawing from life: proportions, pencil strokes, shading, colour and tone.
• Painting: mixing colours, colour theory, technology of painting with acrylic and watercolour paint.
• Explore different methods of making art by using a variety of art materials.
• Plan individual project work and group projects.
• Safe working practice following COVID 19 Government guidelines.

Materials and Equipment
Please note that you will need to provide all the materials for your own projects just for your own use as stated above. These can be discussed with the tutor in class, but to begin with they will include:

A3 Drawing pad
A3 or A4 Mixed media Pad
2 pencils: hard HB and soft B4-B7
Eraser
Set of watercolour paints (preferable of good quality and in the pans not tubes)
Set of acrylic paints
3 brushes of different sizes (1; 4; 9) made of soft natural or artificial fibre
Palettes
Blue/white tack
Masking tape (wide)
Paper towels
